Dr. Katherine A. Shaw is a Professor of Fashion Merchandising and Graduate Coordinator for the MA in Studio Art program at Eastern Illinois University's Department of Art + Design. She holds a PhD in Retail Merchandising from Florida State University and dual degrees from Eastern Illinois University.
Research Focus: Her work spans fashion sustainability, international retailing, and consumer behavior, with technical expertise in SPSS, Atlas.ti, and Adobe Creative Suite. Current investigations explore retail place attachment and sociocultural aspects of clothing.
Publications: Authored core textbooks including the 2024 edition of 'Apparel: Design, Textiles & Construction' and contributed to the 2025 'Fashion Marketing & Merchandising' edition.
