Prosper Maguchu is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, holding positions in the Public International Law Department, Kooijmans Institute, and Boundaries of Law research group. He also serves as a Lecturer at the Centre for International Cooperation. His work focuses on human rights advocacy, international legal frameworks, and transnational legal challenges. Maguchu is involved in the International Law Clinic course (2024-2025) and collaborates internationally on research projects.
Research interests include digital platform regulation, asset recovery mechanisms, land ownership jurisprudence, and anti-corruption strategies. His recent publications address data security in digital financial systems, transnational asset return processes, and socio-economic implications of money laundering. Collaborations span multiple countries with a focus on global legal challenges.
He contributes to academic discourse through peer-reviewed articles in journals like Journal of Money Laundering Control and Indonesian Journal of International Law. His research integrates legal philosophy with contemporary socio-economic issues, emphasizing practical solutions for global governance problems.
