Dr Pinar Oruc is a Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Manchester, where she teaches Intellectual Property Law and serves as co-director of the Manchester Centre for Law and Business.
- PhD in Copyright Law and Cultural Heritage, Queen Mary University of London (Herchel Smith Intellectual Property PhD Scholarship)
- LLM in International Commercial Law, Cardiff University
- BA in Law, Koc University
Her research explores intersections between copyright law, technology, cultural property law, art law, and Indigenous rights, with a focus on digital heritage, AI, and 3D repatriation projects. She has contributed to digital copyright policy through the H2020 reCreating Europe project.
