Barasha Borthakur

Barasha Borthakur is a PhD student at Queen Mary University of London and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire. Her research focuses on Green Intellectual Property (IP) and climate change laws, particularly the role of TRIPS Agreement flexibilities in enabling technology transfer for climate mitigation. She holds a Herchel Smith PhD Scholarship (2020) and a gold medal for academic excellence in Intellectual Property Law.

Education:

• LLM in Intellectual Property Law (National Law University, Jodhpur, 2020)
• BA, LLB (Hons.) in International & Constitutional Law (National Law University, Assam, 2019)

Research Interests: Climate change governance, IP barriers to technology access, and legal frameworks for environmental innovation. She explores alternatives like technology pooling and open innovation to enhance global climate resilience.
