Philip Swanson is a Professor of Music at Salem State University, teaching courses in music theory, jazz history, composition, piano, and trombone. His career spans multiple roles as a trombonist, pianist, organist, composer, conductor, and educator. He has performed with prestigious orchestras and chamber ensembles across the United States, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Miami Philharmonic. Swanson founded the brass chamber ensemble Morgenmusik and collaborated with poet J.D. Scrimgeour in the group "Confluence."
