Dr. Philip Mingay is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at King's University, where he has served since 2006. He holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Alberta (2001), an MA from the University of Guelph (1989), and a BA from Trent University (1987). His research focuses on postcolonial literature, Canadian literature, pedagogy, and the intersection of painting with literature. Recent work explores the relationship between science and art in Canadian landscapes and pedagogical strategies for integrating faith and literature.
He collaborates with Education Alberta and the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer. His teaching spans courses like Introduction to Postcolonial Literature, Literature and Film, and Literary Theory for Education Students. His research projects include interdisciplinary studies linking 19th-century Russian scientist Peter Kropotkin to Canadian art and literature.
Dr. Mingay has presented at conferences such as the Canadian Association of Chairs of English and the British Commonwealth and Postcolonial Studies Conference, addressing topics like pedagogical strategies and faith in literary education.
