Dr. Philip Measor is an Assistant Professor of Engineering and Physics at Whitworth University, where he founded the Microdevices Lab. Previously, he held roles at KLA-Tencor and co-founded LiquiLume Diagnostics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on portable diagnostic platforms. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) in 2010 under Prof. Holger Schmidt. His research spans semiconductor process control, optofluidics, and optical particle manipulation.
Key research areas include DUV to NIR imaging, wafer optical inspection, DNA/RNA detection, and integrated photonic circuits. He has authored/co-authored over 40 publications and holds patents in optofluidics and semiconductor process control. His work emphasizes miniaturized optofluidic devices for applications in healthcare and diagnostics, such as SERS-based chemical sensing and viral detection.
Dr. Measor has secured federal grants from NSF ($150k) and NIH/NCATS ($272k) for portable diagnostic platforms. He is active in professional societies (IEEE, OSA, SPIE) and has reviewed for journals like Lab on a Chip and Applied Physics Letters. His recent efforts focus on clinical viral detection systems and optofluidic chip integration for single-particle analysis.
