Phil Bommer

Phil Bommer serves as Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Product Design Technology and Senior Lecturer in Product Design at the University of the West of England's Faculty of Environment and Technology within the Department of Architecture and the Built Environment.

His academic credentials include a BEng, MDes from the Royal College of Art (RCA), DIC, and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Previously, he spent 15 years at Dyson Limited advancing to UK Research Design & Development Director, overseeing technical and design review from concept to final production across Dyson's product range.

His expertise spans Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Design Management, Entrepreneurship, Design Consultancy, and Business Liaison. Combining industry experience with academic leadership, he directs a design consultancy/import business specializing in kitchenware development from concept through detailed production design.
