Dr. Richard Mawle is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Product Design at the University of the West of England (UWE) within the College of Arts, Technology and Environment (CATE). He contributes to teaching and research in Product Design, with a focus on sustainability and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Education: BEng in Mechanical Engineering (Imperial College), MA(RCA) in Industrial Design Engineering (Royal College of Art), PhD (Loughborough University).
His research spans Sustainable Design, Circular Economy, and AI Ethics, with recent work on Robotics in sustainability contexts. He has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across Materials Science, Human Geography, and Information Systems, including EPSRC-funded projects with Boots and Philips.
