Professor Sir Peter Ratcliffe is an Honorary Fellow at Jesus College, University of Oxford, and holds the title of Nuffield Professor. He leads the Target Discovery Institute and is a Distinguished Scholar at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. His research focuses on hypoxia biology in diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and metabolic disorders. He was knighted in 2014 and jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in 2019 for discovering cellular responses to low oxygen levels.
