معرفی
Professor Tammie Bishop is an Associate Professor of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Oxford's Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics. She also serves as a Tutorial Fellow for Medicine at Trinity College and holds an Honorary Professor title. Her research focuses on hypoxia's role in cellular processes, particularly tumor growth in carotid body paragangliomas and kidney clear cell carcinomas, with significant work on HIF-2α mechanisms.
- BHF Intermediate Research Fellow
- Collaborator: Sir Peter Ratcliffe
Research Trends: Recent publications highlight her expertise in oxygen-sensing pathways, hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs), and their applications in both cancer biology and respiratory diseases like COVID-19. Her work spans molecular physiology, tumor microenvironment analysis, and translational disease modeling.
Scientific Awards:
- Wellcome Discovery Award (for hypoxia response research)
Collaborations: She collaborates extensively with leading researchers, including Nobel laureate Sir Peter Ratcliffe, to investigate hypoxia signaling.
