Professor Peter Bragge is a Research Professor at Monash University, affiliated with the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI) and BehaviourWorks Australia. He leads the Evidence Review Service (ERS), which provides evidence syntheses for government and industry clients, and collaborates with McMaster University to build the Social Systems Evidence (SSE) database for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His work focuses on evidence-based policy, health systems, and sustainable development.
Education: B.Physio (Hons.) from the University of Melbourne (1995) and Licentiate in Piano Performance from Trinity College London (1991).
Research interests include evidence synthesis methods, traumatic brain injury (TBI) classification, climate change adaptation in healthcare, and behavior change strategies. Over 90 peer-reviewed publications span journals like The Lancet Neurology and Implementation Science. Notable outputs include the 2025 NIH-NINDS TBI classification framework and the 2018 book on Victoria's trauma system.
Current projects include SDG evidence mapping, health workforce burnout reduction, and policy reviews for mental health systems. Collaborations involve institutions like the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
Advocacy and grants: Over 30 active and completed projects funded by government and NGOs, focusing on evidence translation and policy impact. Media engagements include The Conversation and ABC News.
