Pere Antoni Borràs Rotger is a Full Professor in the Department of Pedagogy and Specific Didactics at the University of the Balearic Islands, specializing in Didactics of Body Expression. He holds a Doctorate from the University of the Balearic Islands, a Degree in Physical Education from INEFC of Barcelona, a Master in Sports Performance from the University of the Balearic Islands, and a European University Diploma in Sports Management from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle.
His research focuses on education in healthy habits, particularly the promotion of physical activity across different populations. Key research areas include childhood obesity prevention in schools, postural education, and sportsmanship development in young athletes. He has shifted his research interests following his involvement with the HEPA network (WHO) and Schools for Health Europe network (European Commission).
Professor Borràs Rotger has published over 80 articles, with 25 in JCR-indexed journals including some with high impact factors (Q1). His work spans physical education, sports science, public health, and exercise physiology, with a particular emphasis on practical applications in educational settings and community health programs.

He has directed numerous research projects including the PREDIMED+ DM project (focusing on Mediterranean diet and exercise for elderly populations) and the PEPE Project (Promotion of Postural Education in Schools). As Director of the Master's in Research in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and Deputy Director of the Innovation Unit in Video Games and Artificial Intelligence at UIB, he plays a significant role in academic leadership. He has also served as Coordinator of Primary Education Studies and Coordinator of Physical and Sports Activities at UIB for six years.
Professor Borràs Rotger is Principal Researcher of the GICAFE research group (Physical Activity and Sport Sciences) and a member of the NUCOX research group (Community Nutrition and Oxidative Stress). He maintains active roles in professional organizations including the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation's training committee, the Rotger-Villalonga Foundation (as Secretary), and the Fibrous Dysplasia Association (as founding member and scientific committee member).
