Antoni Pons Biescas

Dr. Antoni Pons Biescas is a full-time Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), serving as Director of the UIB's Laboratory of Physical Activity Sciences. He specializes in research areas including Biochemistry of Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Oxidative Stress Regulation, and the interplay between Physical Activity and Nutrition.

Research Contributions: He has led numerous projects funded by public and private entities, including initiatives focused on nutritional intervention (e.g., PREDIMED-DM study) and the physiological effects of exercise.
