Josep Antoni Tur Marí

Josep Antoni Tur Marí is a Full Professor in the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences at the University of the Balearic Islands, where he directs the Research Group on Community Nutrition and Oxidative Stress (NUCOX). He holds a Ph.D. in Social Policy and Management from Brandeis University and is affiliated with CIBEROBN and IdISBa research institutes.

His research examines the relationship between nutrition, oxidative stress, and chronic diseases, with particular emphasis on Mediterranean diet interventions. Additional research areas include nutritional physiology, nutraceuticals, and sports nutrition. Professor Tur Marí has developed nutritional frameworks for various populations and health conditions.

He has authored 65 books and book chapters, published over 320 scientific papers, and holds 8 patents. As founding academician of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Food Sciences, he contributes to national nutritional policy development.
