Pere Antoni Borràs Rotger

Pere Antoni Borràs Rotger is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pedagogy and Specific Didactics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He specializes in the didactics of corporal expression and physical activity, with a focus on promoting healthy habits and preventing childhood obesity. His academic background includes a PhD from UIB, a Master’s in Sports Performance, and training in sports management from the University of Northumbria.

His research spans over 80 publications, including 25 JCR-indexed articles, with notable impact in sports psychology and public health. He has participated in 15 research projects, such as the NIH-funded 'Live Well Project' and the PREDIMED+ initiative on Mediterranean diet and exercise. He has organized 10 international congresses and presented over 100 communications.

Professionally, he coordinates the Master’s in Research in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at UIB and serves as Deputy Director of the Unit for Innovation in Video Games and Artificial Intelligence. He has held visiting roles, including Visiting Associate Professor at Tufts University (2010–2011). His leadership roles include former Coordinator of Primary Education Studies and 6 years as Coordinator of Physical and Sports Activities at UIB.

He is a member of networks like HEPA (WHO-affiliated) and 'Schools for Health Europe', focusing on child obesity prevention. His awards include the Jose Castillejo Scholarship and the Balearic Islands’ Research Excellence Grant.
