Pavel Wlosok is a Professor of Jazz and Commercial Music at Western Carolina University’s School of Music within the David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts. He holds a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where he gained early professional experience as a pianist-composer for the One O’clock Lab Band and UNT Wind Symphony.

Research & Teaching Interests: Jazz pedagogy, music theory, composition, arranging, songwriting, piano instruction, and recording arts including vintage analog technologies like Studer and Neve equipment. He also explores contemporary music styles as a pianist, composer, and audio engineer.
Recent Projects: Released Emerald Waters (2024), performed across Europe and the U.S., and maintains a busy schedule of faculty recitals, jazz workshops, and international tours. His photography and mastering expertise further highlight his multidisciplinary approach to artistry.

Engagements: Choir director at United Memorial Methodist Church, frequent performer at venues like Asheville’s Foundry Hotel, and collaborator with renowned artists including John Riley, Mike McGuirk, and Grammy winners like Donny McCaslin. His studio work integrates cutting-edge digital and analog mastering techniques.
