Pauline LeVen is a Professor of Classics and Music (by courtesy) at Yale University, serving as Chair of the Humanities Program. She holds a joint PhD from the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) and Princeton University (2008). Her research bridges ancient Greek literature, musical culture, and posthuman ecocriticism. Notable works include The Many-Headed Muse (2014), exploring late classical lyric poetry, and Music and Metamorphosis in Greco-Roman Thought (2021), analyzing myths of musical transformation. She co-edited the first volume of the Cultural History of Western Music (2023), fostering dialogue between Classics and musicology.
