Paul van Geest is a Full Professor of Church History and History of Theology at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Catholic Theology. He also holds positions as Extraordinary Professor of Patristics and Augustinian Studies at VU University Amsterdam and Full Professor of Economy and Theology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research focuses on Patristics, Augustine studies, and the intersection of religion and politics. Van Geest has authored over 800 publications and serves on numerous academic and governmental advisory boards, including the Dutch Ministry of Finance's Analytics Advisory Committee. He directs the Centre of Patristic Research and has advised the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
