معرفی
Professor Paul Chadwick is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath and Director of the Bath Centre for Mindfulness and Compassion (BCMC). His primary roles include leading the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme and overseeing research initiatives focused on mental health interventions. He has been involved in multiple funded projects, including a Central government-funded trial on mindfulness therapy for persecutory delusions and a Research England-backed project addressing researcher wellbeing through mitigating secondary trauma.
His research interests span three key areas: (1) psychosis, including psychological models of auditory hallucinations and paranoia; (2) mindfulness-based interventions for conditions like multiple sclerosis, persistent depression, and psychosis (a field he pioneered); and (3) the subjective experiences of individuals living with mental health issues, particularly dehumanization in psychosis and group factors in therapy. He actively promotes mindfulness training for university students and staff through the BCMC.
Professor Chadwick has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed articles and datasets, such as the 'Mindfulness for voices' study. He is open to supervising doctoral students and has demonstrated commitment to translational research, often employing randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews to evaluate intervention efficacy and safety.
