Dr. Hassan Jafari is a statistician at King's College London's Department of Biostatistics and Health Informatics, affiliated with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He holds a PhD in physiotherapy from Iran University of Medical Sciences and is completing a PhD in Health Psychology from KU Leuven. His expertise includes statistical design and analysis of clinical trials, particularly in mental health and neuroscience domains.
Research interests focus on psychophysiology of pain and cardiovascular systems, psychometrics, and clinical trial methodologies. He has contributed to studies on compassion-focused therapy for psychosis, complex PTSD-psychosis symptom interactions, and digital interventions like AVATAR therapy for auditory hallucinations. His work spans systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomized controlled trials in areas like musculoskeletal disorders, dementia agitation, and beta-blocker efficacy.
Key projects include the AVATAR2 trial for voice-hearing treatment and the BOPPP trial for oesophageal varices prevention. He collaborates internationally on topics ranging from psilocybin therapy for depression to pelvic floor rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis patients.
