Moya Clancy is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow and Principal Investigator of the NHS GGC AVATAR Therapy Implementation Project. She holds dual roles as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in NHS Prison Healthcare and a trial coordinator for the Wellcome Trust-funded AVATAR2 Trial. Her clinical and academic work focuses on trauma, psychosis, and digital mental health interventions. Dr. Clancy completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow, specializing in dissociation and voice-hearing in complex trauma patients.
Education: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University of Glasgow (specializing in trauma and psychosis). Research interests include AVATAR therapy development, implementation science, and trauma-informed approaches to mental healthcare. She has secured grants totaling over £50k for her implementation projects.
Teaching contributions include modules on psychosis, equality/diversity in mental health, and digital health interventions. She supervises doctoral students in clinical psychology training programs and has mentored students at King’s College London and the University of Glasgow. Awards include the NHS Research Scotland Mental Health Fellowship and grants supporting her translational research.
