Dr. Paul Bube is the W. Lewis McColgan Professor of Religion at Lyon College since 2001. Previously, he served as professor and division chair at Kansas Wesleyan University, where he received the 1999 Exemplary Teaching Award. At Lyon, he holds roles as Vice President of Faculty Assembly and faculty sponsor for Wesley Fellowship. His teaching excellence was further recognized with Lyon’s Lamar Williamson Prize (2009).
His research focuses on ecological civilization, comparative theology, and interdisciplinary ethics. Notable works include explorations of ecological policy in rural China and dialogues between theologians like Gordon Kaufman and John Cobb. Professional service includes leadership in Habitat for Humanity of Independence County and Batesville Help and Hope board membership.
Dr. Bube’s academic leadership extends to curriculum development emphasizing citizenship education and environmental stewardship. His writings bridge theology, philosophy, and practical ethics, reflecting a commitment to both scholarly rigor and community engagement.
