Dr. Paul Austin McDermott is a Professor in the Human Development and Quantitative Methods Division at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE). He specializes in psychometrics, scale development, and advanced statistical modeling. Formerly, he served as Director of Clinical and Industrial Measurement at The Psychological Corporation and held roles in the Penn School of Medicine. His work focuses on standardized assessments of behavioral adjustment, classroom learning, and cognitive growth.

- Development and validation of assessment tools for school behavioral adjustment (e.g., Adjustment Scales for Early Transition in Schooling, Learning Behaviors Scale).
