Professor Daragh McDermott is the Executive Dean of the School of Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). He leads the School Executive Team and represents NTU on the Extended University Executive and University Leadership Teams. His academic career spans roles at ARU Cambridge (2011–2021), including Head of School of Psychology & Sport Science.

McDermott's research focuses on prejudice, sexual health, and psychometric measure development. He has extensively studied transgender attitudes, LGBTQ+ wellbeing, and health behaviors in aging populations. His recent articles address topics like HIV prevention, bisexual erasure, and PrEP acceptability.
