Patricia Moreno is a Senior Lecturer for Voice Training at the Thomas Bernhard Institute of Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2016 and a guest lecturer at Jam Music Lab Private University for Jazz and Popular Music in Vienna. An internationally recognized vocalist, she bridges academic instruction with active performance career spanning multiple continents.
Her educational foundation includes:
- Jazz singing studies at Vienna Conservatory
- Vocal performance training at Berklee College of Music
- Master's degree in vocal performance from University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna
Moreno's artistic research centers on vocal expression across jazz, popular music, and Latin American traditions, with specialized focus on Afrovenezuelan rhythms, Venezuelan Merengues, and Brazilian Chorinhos. Her work synthesizes European technical precision with Latin American musical heat, exploring cultural identity through vocal timbre, improvisation techniques, and cross-genre fusion. This bi-cultural approach manifests in both pedagogical methods and original compositions that challenge conventional vocal boundaries.
Her distinguished honors include:
- Global Music Award Silver Medal for Outstanding Achievement (Female Vocalist and Emerging Artist)
- Bobby McFerrin Audition victory at Berklee College of Music (2011)
- Marianne Mendt Jazz Talent Promotion award (2008)
- SYLFF Scholarship from Tokyo Foundation (2014)
- Recognition as Top 5 Singer of the Month by SingerUniverse (2005)
Moreno maintains active performance and recording commitments while teaching, recently releasing her original EP "Mundos Unidos" that integrates Venezuelan folk elements with contemporary jazz structures. Her advocacy for female artists is evident in projects like the International Women's Day single "Niñas Arriba", reflecting her commitment to mentoring through artistic practice rather than formal student supervision.
