Parisa Ann Suthun, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in infectious diseases with a focus on HIV and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). She is affiliated with the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Suthun earned her M.D. from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. She completed residency and fellowship training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Her military service included deployments to Kuwait and Iraq, after which she cared for veterans at the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS). She rejoined UT Southwestern in 2023 following 12 years in private practice, having previously served on faculty from 2006 to 2010.
Her expertise spans HIV/AIDS management, antimicrobial therapy, and veteran healthcare. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and infectious diseases, she is active in professional organizations such as the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the HIV Medical Association.
