Parijat Majumder is a Senior Electron Microscope Scientist at the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC) of Diamond Light Source, UK's national synchrotron facility, where she joined in October 2023 to lead cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) pipeline development.
Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Calcutta specializing in drug-chromatin interaction dynamics, followed by postdoctoral cryo-EM research under Wolfgang Baumeister at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry.
Dr. Majumder's research integrates cryo-electron microscopy with fluorescence techniques to study biological structures in near-native states. Her expertise spans structural biology methodology development, particularly advancing CLEM workflows for high-resolution cellular imaging. At eBIC, she operates within Diamond's Biological Cryo-Imaging division (Beamline B24), supporting national and international researchers through technical guidance and pipeline optimization.
As part of Diamond Light Source's scientific staff, she contributes to the facility's mission of providing cutting-edge imaging resources to the global research community, with current work focused on overcoming technical barriers in correlative microscopy for structural biology applications.
