Dr. Owen Powell is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at York Business School, York St John University. He holds a PhD from Bangor University, focusing on worker cooperatives' organizational dynamics. His research bridges theory and practice, emphasizing horizontal structures, social innovation, and community wellbeing. Powell has collaborated with institutions like the University of Birmingham on projects such as the SPARC initiative, exploring co-produced wellbeing models. He brings industry experience from SME consulting in social innovation, arts, and community housing. His teaching spans lectures and seminar facilitation, prioritizing student engagement and practical application of business concepts. Powell has secured £126k in external grants, including funding from the Arts Council England and City of York Council.
