Odysseas Christou is an Associate Professor in Government, International Law, and International Relations at the University of Nicosia's Department of Law within the School of Law. He serves on the University Internal Quality Assurance Committee and coordinates doctoral programs. Previously, he taught at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Lutheran University, and the University of Cyprus. His research focuses on energy security, regional security complexes, climate policy, and conflict resolution in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean. He advises the Cyprus Energy Strategy Council and participates in EU-funded research projects. Christou holds a PhD and BA from the University of Texas at Austin. His recent work examines sustainability integration in higher education institutions through systems thinking and EU climate policy challenges.

Research interests span energy geopolitics, securitization theory, and the intersection of climate policy with human rights. He has led research projects on energy security in the Eastern Mediterranean and the European Green Deal's implications for regional stability. His work bridges academic analysis with policy impact, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to complex geopolitical challenges.
