Dr. Petros Savvides is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Buckingham's School of Humanities and Social Sciences, specializing in defence, security, and conflict studies with a focus on Greek-Turkish relations and the geopolitics of the Eastern Mediterranean. He holds a BFA in Art/Philosophy from the University of Iowa, an MPhil in History from the University of Glasgow, and a PhD in Modern History from the University of Birmingham.

His research emphasizes archival and field-based studies in Cyprus, Turkey, and Lebanon. He co-coordinated the 2019 international conference on religious spaces in conflict and collaborates with the Institute for Cypriot Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Münster. Recent work includes a monograph on Cyprus’s occupied regions and contributions to security analyses of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Current collaborations involve interdisciplinary studies on Cyprus through the University of Münster and ongoing engagement with geopolitical dynamics in the region.
