Professor Noam Yuchtman is a Professor of Management at the London School of Economics (2019–2024) and holds the title of University Academic Fellow since 2023. Previously, he served as Associate Professor (2016–2020) and Assistant Professor (2010–2016) at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on political economy, economic history, and labor economics, exploring themes such as educational institutions' role in human capital, legal frameworks' impact on labor markets, and social interactions shaping economic behavior. He earned his PhD in Economics from Harvard University (2010) and BA in Economics from Williams College (2005).
Research highlights include studies on AI governance, strategic protest dynamics in Hong Kong, historical legal institutions' influence on commercial development, and peer effects in financial decision-making. His work frequently intersects with institutional analysis and policy implications. He currently serves as Managing Editor of the Review of Economic Studies (since 2022) and has received the British Academy Global Professorship (2019–2023).
