Noam Yuchtman

Noam Yuchtman is Drummond Professor of Political Economy at the University of Oxford and Professor at the London School of Economics. He holds editorial roles at the Review of Economic Studies and specializes in political economy, development economics, and economic history. His research examines educational institutions, legal frameworks, social interactions, and state-led innovation.

Dr. Yuchtman received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University and BA from Williams College. His current work investigates AI governance, historical institutional change, and protest movements, with regional expertise in China and historical Europe.

Recipient of the British Academy Global Professorship and multiple refereeing awards, he has advised over 25 doctoral students. His grants include funding from the Leverhulme Trust for projects on electoral systems and resource allocation.
