Ching Kwan Lee is a Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her work focuses on global and comparative issues, including labor politics, political sociology, decolonization, and the dynamics of Chinese capitalism. She is renowned for her trilogy on Chinese labor and global expansion, including Gender and the South China Miracle, Against the Law, and The Specter of Global China. Lee has also authored groundbreaking studies on Hong Kong’s decolonization struggles and African-China relations.
Education: PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
