معرفی
Nir Eynon is a Professor at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute, Monash University. He holds an NHMRC Investigator EL2 Fellowship (2021-2025) and has led major projects including the Gene SMART study. His research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in aging, exercise adaptations, and sex differences, leveraging multi-omics approaches (DNA methylation, transcriptomics, proteomics).
Educated at the University of Porto (PhD in Genetics and Exercise, 2010), Eynon’s work has generated over 100 high-impact publications (h-index 45, 5600+ citations). He currently supervises six PhD students and four postdoctoral researchers, with a record of training six PhD graduates to completion.
Research interests include: (1) Epigenetic clocks and biological aging quantification, (2) Sex-specific responses to exercise, (3) Muscle and bone interactions across the lifespan. His lab integrates wet-lab and computational methods for omics data analysis.
Recent publications highlight breakthroughs in blood methylome mapping (Genome Biology) and gender-affirming hormone therapy effects (Journal of Physiology). Awards include the 2023 Hevolution/AFAR New Investigator Award and 2024 Australian Epigenetic Alliance Award.
Grants led include ARC DP projects and NHMRC equipment grants. Collaborations span global institutions studying teleost models (fish) for muscle aging insights.
