Dr. Ning Chen is a Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Business Innovation at Lehman College, The City University of New York (CUNY). She holds dual Ph.D.s: one in Management from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and another in Psychology from East China Normal University. Her academic background also includes an M.S. and B.S. from Nanjing Normal University, China.
Dr. Chen’s research focuses on belief systems, including the psychological impact of beliefs in luck, change, and justice, particularly as they relate to entrepreneurial activities and health-related behaviors. Her work bridges management and psychology, exploring how cognitive frameworks influence decision-making across contexts such as entrepreneurship, health outcomes, and cross-cultural environments.
Her publications appear in leading journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, and Business Creativity & the Creative Economy. She actively contributes to academic communities as a reviewer for the APA and NSF and serves on editorial panels for peer-reviewed journals. Prior to her current position, she taught at Clarion University of Pennsylvania and Fudan University in China.
