Dr. Nicola Mallowan is a Senior Lecturer and Group Lead of the Drug and Alcohol Research Group at Buckinghamshire New University (BNU). She serves as Course Leader for the Forensic Psychology Degree and teaches on the Applied Forensic Psychology Masters. Her research focuses on substance misuse treatment, therapeutic relationships, and domestic violence, with projects addressing substance use post-COVID, ADHD in students, and barriers to treatment for minority groups. She previously worked in probation services and substance misuse programs.

Research Interests: Dr. Mallowan explores how therapeutic relationships influence treatment outcomes for substance misuse. She advocates for civic engagement, collaborating with local organizations to address addiction and justice-related issues.
