Nicola Jägers

Nicola Jägers is a Full Professor of Human Rights Law and Head of the Department of Public Law & Governance at Tilburg Law School, Tilburg University. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University, an MSc in History, and an LLM in International Law. Her research focuses on the intersection of globalization, corporate responsibility, and human rights law, particularly in the context of transnational business and climate change impacts. She serves on multiple committees, including the Netherlands Network of Human Rights Research and the Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights editorial board.

Her teaching includes courses on 'Human Rights and Globalization' and 'Human Rights and Business' in the Master's Program in International and European Law.

Recent publications explore mandatory corporate due diligence in extractive industries, indigenous rights in energy transitions, and climate displacement. She has contributed to policy advisory roles, including the Netherlands’ approach to human rights in geopolitical contexts.

Prof. Jägers is involved in research projects such as 'Global Law & Governance,' addressing climate adaptation and legal frameworks. Her work emphasizes regulatory approaches to enforce human rights in evolving global contexts.
