Izabela Schiffauer, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań, Poland. She leads an international team focused on corporate human rights and environmental due diligence, funded by the National Science Centre. Her work bridges law, environmental governance, and interdisciplinary research on climate justice, rights of nature, and corporate responsibility.
Trained in law and linguistics, Schiffauer explores legal frameworks governing environmental harm, corporate accountability, and transnational governance. Her research emphasizes the intersection of public and private sectors in addressing ecological crises, including climate change and pollution. She contributes to debates on EU policy harmonization, particularly regarding mandatory due diligence for businesses.
Her scholarly output spans constitutional law, human rights, and EU regulatory dynamics. Recent work analyzes the Ukraine conflict’s impact on human rights due diligence, digital platforms’ labor rights, and Poland’s legal responses to queer rights.
