Dr. Ngozi S. Nwoko serves as an Assistant Professor at Lakehead University's Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, teaching core courses including Contracts, Torts, and Property Law. Previously, she instructed Immigration and Citizenship Law, Business Associations, and Engineering Law.
Her research critically examines:
- Chinese state-owned enterprises in extractive industries
- Belt and Road Initiative legal frameworks
- Transnational bribery and non-state regulation
- Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL)
- Critical Minerals and Oil & Gas Law
Recent publications analyze Chinese outbound investment protection mechanisms, Global South dynamics in transnational regulation, and China-Nigeria resource deals. Her work consistently applies TWAIL perspectives to deconstruct power imbalances in international investment law, with emphasis on African resource governance and Chinese global engagement.
Nwoko maintains active research affiliations as a Research Associate with Oxford University's China, Law and Development Project and the Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria.
