Nathan Websdale is a DPhil Student at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, and serves as a Researcher in Residence within the Faculty of History. He concurrently acts as Graduate Outreach Tutor and holds leadership roles including President of the Oxford University Byzantine Society (2022–2023) and Convenor of 'Epiros: The Other Western Rome.' His affiliations include membership in the Royal Historical Society and Society for the Promotion of Byzantine Studies.

- BA History (First Class), Royal Holloway, University of London (2016)
- MA Late Antique and Byzantine Studies (Merit), Intercollegiate University of London (2017) – recipient of the Patriarch George II of Cyprus Scholarship
- DPhil History, University of Oxford (2021–present)
Research Interests: Nathan’s work focuses on Byzantium post-1204, analyzing ethnocultural identity, network studies, and the interplay between urban centers and provinces. Key themes include performative ethnicity in splinter states (e.g., Epiros), Roman identity, and the weaponization of space. His broader interests span Late Antiquity, Slavonic Studies, and environmental history, with methodological engagement in historical sociology and network analysis.
