Dr. Natalie Foot is a Grant-Funded Researcher (B) at the University of Adelaide's School of Biomedicine, part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on cell biology, protein trafficking, and ubiquitination mechanisms, particularly the role of Nedd4 family enzymes in physiological and pathological processes. She investigates progesterone receptor interactions in ovulation regulation, aiming to discover non-hormonal contraceptives.
Her research employs multidisciplinary approaches including physiology, histology, electron microscopy, and molecular biology. Key areas include extracellular vesicle biogenesis, insulin/glucagon signaling, and iron homeostasis regulation via DMT1. Recent work highlights novel roles of Arrdc proteins in metabolic and reproductive processes.
Dr. Foot has published extensively on ubiquitin signaling, reproductive biology, and membrane trafficking mechanisms. Her studies span from fundamental cellular processes to translational research in fertility and metabolic disorders. She is eligible to supervise graduate students as a co-supervisor.
