Nasser Behnegar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in economics and social thought from the University of Chicago. His research focuses on foundational questions in liberalism, religion-politics intersections, and the scientific basis of social sciences.

His work bridges classical political philosophy with modern thought, including studies on Leo Strauss, Max Weber, and John Locke. He teaches courses on early modern political philosophy, Islamic political thought, and Nietzschean philosophy.
Key publications include Leo Strauss, Max Weber, and the Scientific Study of Politics (2003) and recent work on Locke's engagement with Christianity. His writing explores textual analysis of foundational political texts and their contemporary relevance.
Behnegar currently serves as Director of Graduate Studies and contributes to interdisciplinary scholarly discourse on political theory and methodology.
