Dr. Nancy Annan is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University. She holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies and has 15 years of experience in peace, security, global development, and gender issues, particularly in Africa. Her work spans research, training, and development across multiple countries, collaborating with civil society groups, academics, regional and international organizations. She previously worked at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Accra and contributed to the EU Horizon 2020 PeaceTraining project.
Nancy Annan earned her Doctorate in International Relations from Coventry University (2016–2020), focusing on 'Exploring the Contributions of Local Infrastructures for Peace in Post-Conflict Liberia.' She also held positions as a UN Intern (2009), a Graduate Management Trainee at Plan International (2008–2010), and as a Research Associate at KAIPTC (2011–2016).
Her research interests include peacebuilding, conflict resolution, peacekeeping, global development, and women’s peace and security. She has conducted extensive research on the Anglophone conflict in Cameroon, examining peacebuilding initiatives and the impact of conflict on communities. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
While specific grants are not detailed, her involvement in the British Council-funded EUPE project (2022–2024) highlights her role in enabling university peace education in Sudan and Ethiopia. She has supervised doctoral research, including her own PhD on post-conflict Liberia, and collaborates with international organizations on peace initiatives.
