Marsha Henry is a Professor at the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics at Queen's University Belfast, holding the Hillary Rodham Clinton Chair in Women, Peace, Security and Justice at the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. Her research focuses on gender, peace, and security; critical military studies; and intersectional feminist methodologies. She has advised governments and international organizations like the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeper Training Centre and UNITAR. Her recent book The End of Peacekeeping (2024) critiques militarized peacekeeping frameworks. Supervised PhD students include Harriet Gray (University of York), Aiko Holvikivi (LSE), and Niharika Pandit (Queen Mary University of London).
Key research areas include gender-based violence in post-conflict societies, critical race feminism, and decolonial approaches to global governance. Her work intersects with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to gender equality and peacebuilding. She actively supervises doctoral research on themes like militarization, humanitarianism, and geopolitical conflict.
Publications span journals such as Security Dialogue and Conflict, Security and Development, emphasizing ethnographic insights into peacekeeping missions. Recent collaborations include hosting academic events on feminist critiques of military masculinities (June 2025).
