Kwesi Aning is a Professor and Security and Political Analyst at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Ghana, affiliated with the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) at Uppsala University. His academic background includes a PhD in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen (1998) and a BA in History from the University of Ghana (1986). He has held senior roles at the African Union, UN, and World Economic Forum, focusing on security sector reform, peacebuilding, and counterterrorism. His research emphasizes hybrid political orders, peacekeeping economies, and stability operations in Africa.
