Nadia Wager is a Professor of Psychology at Teesside University and holds leadership roles as the Lead for Doctoral Programmes in the Collective Place Leadership Institute and Deputy Lead for the Teesside University Policing Clinic. Previously, she directed the None in Three Research Centre at the University of Huddersfield. She earned her PhD in Applied Social Psychology from Brunel University in 2002 and has over 20 years of experience in Forensic Psychology and Victimology.
Her research focuses on preventing child sexual abuse, addressing sexual revictimization, and exploring restorative justice approaches. She leads large-scale international projects, including a £4.6M UKRI/GCRF initiative developing digital interventions for gender-based violence and a $775K UNICEF-funded project tackling online child sexual abuse in Brazil. Her work emphasizes mixed-methods research and collaboration with community services and law enforcement agencies.
Nadia has evaluated interventions for victims of modern slavery, historic child sexual abuse, and police strategies against child sexual abuse. Her recent studies include examining the impact of online-facilitated abuse on families and public perceptions of sexual offense reintegration.
