N. Moorthy Muthukrishnan

N. Moorthy Muthukrishnan is a Teaching Professor at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. With over 15 years of industrial experience in the USA and extensive academic leadership roles in India, he has expertise in Power Electronics, Robotics, and Renewable Energy. Previously, he served as a Process/Product Engineer at LSI Logic Corporation and held academic leadership positions including Head of Department at Indian institutions. He holds a Ph.D. and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and IIT-Madras.

His research focuses on renewable energy systems, including the design of a 100 KWp solar PV plant, and energy resilience strategies through microgrids. He is actively involved in the Asheville Buncombe County Critical Services Microgrid Working Group and volunteers with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Dr. Muthukrishnan has over 40 publications in international conferences/journals and has coordinated major initiatives like the BTBP-GNITS Center for Artificial Intelligence and the GNITS-Steinbeis Center for Renewable Energy. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds prestigious fellowships from Indian engineering institutions.
