Nishant Kumar

Dr. Nishant Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur). He leads the Energy Management and Microgrid Laboratory (EMML) and has international collaborations with institutions like Imperial College London, MIT, and the University of Warwick. His research focuses on renewable energy systems, electric vehicle technology, and intelligent optimization methods.

Education:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi (Best Thesis Award, IEEE IAS Thesis Contest First Prize)
• Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore

Research Interests: Dr. Kumar’s work addresses dynamic energy harvesting in solar-assisted electric vehicles, power electronics for microgrids, and real-time optimization algorithms like Human Psychology Optimization (HPO). His contributions include validating systems against European standards (EN50530) and developing control strategies for variable shading in PV panels.
