Monica Allen, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Government and serves as Assistant City Manager for the City of Charlotte, North Carolina. In her academic role, she teaches Public Financial Management since 2004, while leading strategic development, performance, and evaluation initiatives for city departments.
- Education: Ph.D. in Organization and Management (Capella University), Master of Arts in Psychology (College of William & Mary), Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Hampton University)
Her professional expertise spans strategic management, public administration, organizational development, and performance evaluation. She applies these disciplines to public service leadership and community engagement.
Monica has received multiple honors, including the Charlotte Chamber Young Professional Public Servant Award (2016), Richard M. Goodman Award for Strategic Planning (2017), and recognition as one of Mecklenburg Times’ 50 Most Influential Women in 2018 and 2023.
